Wizz Air: new flight Ancona Tirana

Wizz Air, the fastest growing airline in Europe, has announced the expansion of its Ancona-based network with a flight to and from Tirana. The line will be opened on 4 June 2021 with 2 flights per week (Monday and Friday), with fares starting at €24.99. The new tickets are already on sale at wizzair.com or on the airline’s mobile app.

Wizz Air will thus be connecting Ancona with the beautiful capital of Albania, which is a tourist destination that is becoming more and more popular, as of 4 June. This new important connection will satisfy the needs of both ethnic customers, who want to return home to visit their relatives, and business customers who go to Albania for work reasons.

Wizz Air is an investment grade credit rated airline whose fleet has an average age of 5.4 years and comprises the most efficient and sustainable single-aisle Airbus A320 and Airbus A320neo aircraft currently available. Wizz Air’s carbon dioxide emissions were the lowest among European airlines in FY2019 (57.2 gr / km / passenger). Wizz Air has 265 state-of-the-art Airbus A320neo aircraft, which will enable the airline to further reduce its environmental impact by 30% per passenger until 2030.

Wizz Air was among the first airlines to introduce a new era of sanitised travel through its network, with advanced hygiene measures aimed at ensuring the health and safety of passengers and crew. Click here to view Wizz Air’s new health and safety video.

By adding WIZZ Flex to a booking, passengers can rest assured that if circumstances change, or if they simply wish to travel on a different date or to a different destination, they can rebook any WIZZ flight of their choice.

Wizz Air’s Senior Communications Manager Andras Rado added: “We are delighted to add this new destination today, which will expand our network of flights from both Italy and Albania. We are confident that Wizz Air’s ultra-low fares and excellent network will contribute to the growth of the Italian and Albanian tourism and business sector”.

Carmine Bassetti, CEO of Aerdorica, expresses great satisfaction for the beginning of the cooperation with Wizz Air and hopes that the connection with Albania is only the first step towards a more global collaboration. The markets covered by Wizz Air are indeed of great interest to Ancona airport and its user base.
